SERBIA // FAVORITE FINDS

I want to do some posts on my favorite places and spaces and I will start with probably m
favorite find we were introduced to.

SUPERMARKET CONCEPT STORE

Store
SUPERMARKET CONCEPT STORE
This was by far one of my favorite places we went to. It is all of my favorite things rolled into one. A retail space, bar, restaurant, and spa. Need I say more? It was heaven. The design of the store itself was stunning. The environment is very raw and unfinished so the merchandise stood out on recycled wooden units. I had to add the Pantone glass Christmas balls for all the designers out there.
If you want to see/learn more click here. Some better images then my quick snapshots.

SERBIA // WITHOUT TECHNOLOGY

I am typing this on the iPad, so it will be short but it is a great trip so far. I have been able to spend a lot of time with the local people. I am taking it all the best I can! I don't have Internet in the apartment where I am staying... So I use Internet at the cafes and friends houses.

Till next time...

EAT & MOVE

description from their vimeo site
3 guys, 44 days, 11 countries, 18 flights, 38 thousand miles, an exploding volcano, 2 cameras and almost a terabyte of footage... all to turn 3 ambitious linear concepts based on movement, learning and food ....into 3 beautiful and hopefully compelling short films.....

-I hope to be able to do this someday! What a wonderful way to capture these experiences.

A Small Addiction

The delightful treats are described in the paper below.

A Small Addiction

It's Been a Week...

So I have been home for officially a week + one day and I am doing okay. I am sure it sounds weird to even bring that up, but a lot of people ask if I still wish I was in Paris and if I want to live there now... I will say of course I miss it, but I do like being home. A thing I miss the most is being able to go out and there always being something to do and see. I miss yes, I will say it, riding on the METRO or the feeling of being in a city. I miss seeing the amazing architecture everyday and hearing the French speak. Oh, and of course the FOOD. I have been cooking though. Maybe not salmon and macaroons, but I really missed Mexican food while over there so I whipped up a big batch of guacamole!

-The guacamole my sisters and I made, it saves time to have someone smash avocado while you chop!
I feel as if I put a little of everything in my guacamole and I hear it's pretty good, so if you are wondering:
-avocados
-cilantro (lots of it)
-lime juice (3-5)
-small green pepper
-tomatoes
-lemon juice
-onion
-garlic
-salt
>all finely chopped
I think that is all of it... I just eyeball it all and measure by taste, just put what you like in there!

While I was in Paris I took two classes which both required reading and writing. I think the papers that I wrote really portray some of my experiences.  I am not by any means a professional writer, but I will share some of them with you.

There are many many things I still want to share and post that I did not have time to while in Paris. But as I start sifting through all of my pictures and videos, I am sure that I will have much more to share!

-Papers, will be in posts to come.

Raspberry Bliss

This was one of my favorite pastries I had! It was a macaroon sandwich with cream on the inside and raspberries around the cream. They wrapped it up in a little hot pink paper pyramid. I made this heaven last over two days! It was from a patisserie called La Truffe Noire-- go if ever in Paris!

Chantilly

These are images from Chantilly, France. I felt as if I were in a movie (a movie was being shot actually when we were there).  The grass, clouds, and architecture were amazing. We went around the land and then into the  Château de Chantilly. I was waiting for Mr. Darcy to walk out from behind a shrub. We had the privilege to eat Chantilly creme, and it was delightful! It's almost like a cross between whipped cream and custard ice cream.  It is hand churned made with all fresh ingredients everyday. The creme is so thick that the raspberries stick to the spoon.

A Tasty Treat

yes, three flavors: strawberry, banana, and coconut!

It did not take long after making this original post for an ice cream trip.

So even though I have had many many tasty treats in Paris so far, the ice cream will probably always and forever be my favorite thing to eat. I was on one of my favorite blogs and I am so excited that I can actually relate and have had something she mentioned! Amorino ice cream shops are all over Paris! They just opened a shop in New York City (of course not KC, yet) They are so wonderful and make a beautiful flower shape out of your gelato! I will admit that I have been there a couple of times! With two weeks left here in this city I am sure I will be making another trip...

Best FOOD of My Life

So today was such a wonderful day! We started at the Cluny museum (pics soon to come). Then we went to lunch! It was honestly probably some of the best food I have ever had. A three course meal, wine, water, and coffee. It was so amazing. I can not even describe the tastes. I hope that my images above can help do a bit of justice but I doubt it. I also had my first real cup of Cafe' Creme and I wanted five more. (sorry starbucks but this wins by far) We all ate so much. Probably the most we have all eaten in a long time. We were joking about our food babies and how you were going to have to roll us to the Louvre.
Oh, and then we went to the Louvre! I will have pics up for that soon as well.  We only got through one floor of one wing today and barely looked at everything on that floor which took us about three hours. It was absolutely crazy and amazing.
